Botinero - a relationship worth working at!

We miss you Botty!!!

29/10/2012 - Hello, this is Lucy and Botinero,   I just thought I would quickly tell you how "Bo" has been getting on.    We have recently been doing a lot of dressage competitions at our yard and we qualified for the Championships last week. As you can tell from some of the pictures attached we won our class and Bo loved posing for the pictures and having his sash put on!   Bo is now learning shoulder in, led yield and picked up counter canter straight away. We managed 1 flying change too!   He is also learning to jump, he isn't hesitant and always trys his best, showing a lot of enthusiasm. We are doing a showjumping competition on Sun 30th October, and are doing the clearound and bottom hole class.   We have also been in our first photo shoot together, modelling 'having a lesson at Bedgebury Park'. There were huge umbrellas and flashing lights right in front of him and he took it all in his stride, you may be seeing him in the movies soon!! The website is   Bo has made friends with Chino - my friends pony, and he has been going out in the field alongside other horses. He also settled really quickly since arriving at Bedgebury.   I hope you are well and are having as much fun as me and Bo are with your horses and we hope to hear back from you!   Lucy, Sue and Bo xxxx

Feb 2012 - HI Sharon and Tarma   Just thought we would let you know how Bo is getting on – he has continued to settle in really well – we still have the very odd day of “tude” but Lucy can feel it coming and a quick lunge soon gets it out of his system! He has quite a buck on him when he wants his own way – but Lucy learning not to give in and they are now few and far between – they are learning mutual respect as well as love. His jumping is coming along really well – it stretches is mind and he loves it. The recent snow and cold has probably been a bit of a shock to his system but he has coped really well and his behaviour has been perfect - – see me in the snow!!   Looking forward to the spring and summer to get him out in the XC field and out hacking to blow the cobwebs away. Lucy has made me promise that I will ride him in the spring as well. I rode him a few times but Lucy is so much better than me now that I let her get on with it – but I need to get back in the saddle and I think he will take care of me.   He has qualified for the Novice in the Bedgebury championships in May and also appears on their website. They loved doing the photoshoot – lights and flash, umbrella thingys – no problem. – see me looking very posh!   BW   Sue and Lucy
